Info day 2011
Healthy water resources - balancing the needs of humans and the environment
Wednesday, 22 June 2011, 09:00 - 16:45
Forum Chriesbach, Main building Eawag Dübendorf
(followed by an aperitif)
Eawag is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2011. Starting off as an advisory centre for waste water treatment and water protection, it has become one of the leading water research institutes in the world. But pressure on water resources is still increasing. That is why Eawag and its research facilities are promoting solutions now that strike a balance between the needs of nature and those of people. At the Infotag 2011 Eawag will present results from three key research areas: microbiology of drinking water and micro-pollutants, water infrastructure in Switzerland and in developing countries, and insights into the functioning of aquatic ecosystems and their significance for ecosystem management. A brief look into the past of these key research areas identifies the most important developments of recent decades in these fields. The program is rounded off with an aperitif for all guests.
Note: All talks will be given in German.
