CV

  • 1971, born in St. Gallen, grew up in Seengen on the shores of Lake Hallwil.

  • 1991-1997, studied environmental sciences at the ETH Zurich with specialisation in aquatic physics.

  • 1997, graduated with a diploma thesis on physical and chemical processes in the crater lake Lac Pavin, and received the teaching diploma "Höheres Lehramt" in physics and environmental sciences.

  • 1998-2001, PhD thesis on nitrous oxide emissions from managed grasslands at the Institute for Environmental Protection and Agriculture (IUL, Bern-Liebefeld) of the Swiss Federal Research Station for Agroecology and Agriculture (FAL)

  • 2000-2001, Scientific collaborator and webmaster at the foundation "Schweizer Jugend forscht" in Basel

  • 2002-now, Scientist at the Aquatic Physics group of the department "Surface Waters", with the focus on modeling mixing processes and turbulence in lakes and rivers.
