About Me

Research interests:
I am river ecologist and modeller. My research concerns studying the impact of dryness, hydrological connectivity and restoration on biodiversity and river functions. By developing predicitve models to explain the impact of changing abiotic factors, I create tools to predict the impact of human interventions in rivers and the impact of climatic change on river biodiversity and functions. Currently, I study the effect of flow intermittency in the alps and its impact on biodiversity.

Projects

Understanding and measuring how flow intermittency drives biodiversity and river functions in an alpine environment
This project aims at closing the knowledge gap on monetary benefits of river rehabilitation by assessing the economic values of improvements in river ecosystem services resulting from river rehabilitation.
Restoring rivers for for effective catchment management.
