Everyone is invited to the event celebrating the completion of the Chriesbach revitalisation!

April 8, 2014 | Andri Bryner

On Saturday, 17 May 2014, a celebration open to the public will be held along the revitalised Chriesbach on the Eawag premises in Dübendorf. Everyone is invited from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a close-up look at the «new» brook. Eawag researchers and Cantonal employees will give glimpses into their research, the brook and its creation at several stations.

Following the official opening ceremony on Friday, Eawag and others involved in the project invite the public on Saturday, 17 May 2014, to an event along the revitalised Chriesbach, Dübendorf. Impressive algae under the microscope, live pictures on an underwater camera, an experimental brook for do-it-yourself revitalising, information about the small animals in the brook, measurements of outward flow and nutrients, the relationship of flowing water and groundwater, a large aquarium with Chriesbach fish and much more as well will be featured at this “open brook”. Guided tours every hour on the hour, short talks and of course food and drink round out the celebration. At 4 p.m. there will be a grand duck race with attractive prizes.

Reserve the date now! Invite your partner, neighbours and grandchildren! The event will take place no matter the weather. No need to sign up. Please use public transport to get to the event (Glattalbahn Tram 12 to Giessen station or Bus 760 to the Empa/Dübendorf stop).
