Current Projects of the CEEB
One important long-term goal is to couple biodiversity
and ecosystem models to non-biological models of global and regional change. Projects
in this direction are funded by the Competence Centre of Environment and
Sustainability, the Swiss National Science Foundation, and the European Science
foundations and include:
- Projet Lac
Building a “time zero” data base for fish in pre-alpine lakes to assess the impacts of environmental change
- AquaDiverse
Towards an Evolutionary Biodiversity Framework through integrating ecology, population genetics and conservation biology in a spatially explicit context - AquaProbe
From Monitoring towards Understanding, Predicting and Managing Plankton in Changing Aquatic Ecosystems
- BioChange
Genetic diversity, contemporary evolution and the maintenance of biodiversity in changing alpine environments
- Adapt
Adapt planning and operation of large dams to social needs and environmental constraints - an integrated water resource management study in the Zambezi Basin - Lake Kivu
A fascinating ecosystem and a source of energy
