Aim:

to investigate the institutional settings and identify stakeholder interests and preferences for the implementation of fluoride removal in Ethiopia.

Surveys with local county (woreda) and village (kebele) officials have pinpointed their concerns about fluorosis, which is seen to be a “number one” issue in the Rift Valley. The project is viewed as a positive step in solving the problem. Safe water provision for the whole region is a priority issue, but the institutional capacity to address this larger issue is as yet insufficient.
