Info Day

Info Day

At its annual information event – Info Day – Eawag presents recent research findings, focusing each year on a specific topic. The event is mainly designed for specialists from the practical sphere. As well as presentations by Eawag experts, Info Day offers sufficient time for plenary discussions and scope for informal exchanges.

Info Day 2012 The aquatic environment - what it provides and what it needs

Friday 22 June 2012, 09:30 - 16:40
ETH Zurich Main Building, Auditorium Maximum

The bodies of water in Switzerland provide not only ecological but also major economic services. Examples of the latter are drinking water supplies, use for energy provision and tourism. These economic services can only be provided, however, if the aquatic ecosystems are intact and can withstand the pressures of outside interference. Ensuring that these conditions are met means knowing how aquatic ecosystems function and incorporating this knowledge in the planning process. The Eawag Info Day (Infotag) 2012 is dedicated to new realizations about the function of aquatic ecosystems and demonstrating the consequences of human interference.
