Solar Prize for Forum Chriesbach
August 21st, 2006
Eawag's new headquarter building, which has only just come into operation, has
already won an
award: Forum Chriesbach is among the recipients of a 2006
Swiss Solar Prize. The building has been awarded this accolade not just for the
solar power system (solar collectors and photovoltaics – see photo) on the roof,
but because, overall, it puts energy-efficient construction into practice in an
exemplary manner. The Head of the Swiss Solar Agency, Gallus Cadonau,
commented: «This is climate-friendly and is the answer to rising oil prices,
while also offering the highest level of comfort at the same time.» The Prize is
to be officially presented on 19 October at the University of Applied Sciences,
Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), in Windisch.
To celebrate the building's inauguration, Forum Chriesbach will
be open for public viewing on Saturday, 2 September 2006, from 10:00 to
17:00.
