Festive Presentation of the Solar Prize 2006

Eawag’s new headquarter building "Forum Chriesbach" is among the winners of the Solar Prize 2006 in the category "Buildings". In this category, energy-efficient new and restored buildings were eligible to take part. Ueli Bundi, Eawag’s Director a.i. and Bob Gysin, Architect, were pleased to receive the prize from Roger Nordmann, member of the Swiss National Council, in Windisch/AG on 19 October 2006.

“We are extremely proud of the Solar Prize and regard it as a mark of recognition for our global sustainability approach" said Ueli Bundi in his thank-you address and added: “Forum Chriesbach succeeded in accepting the challenge of sustainability and to prove that the 2000-Watt Society promoted by the ETH Board is not a mere utopian dream.”
