Insights into Eawag research: 2007 Annual Report
23 May 2008
The latest Eawag Annual Report, combining scientific and financial/operational information, provides an up-to-date review of the wide range of activities initiated or completed at the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology in 2007. How can wastewater treatment plants reduce the toxicity of pollutants that are scarcely removed by existing processes? How can a gill model reduce the need for experiments involving live fish? What does the sound of a river tell us about its condition? Why is stakeholder involvement so important in projects designed to improve sanitation in developing countries? Eawag researchers are seeking solutions for the sustainable management of water – a resource that is increasingly under pressure. We combine basic research with efforts to resolve water-related problems in cooperation with practitioners, both nationally and internationally.
