Dr. Robert Bos is the head of the World Health Organization’s Programme on
Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Health. In this capacity he oversees WHO’s work
regarding drinking water quality, wastewater use, recreational waters, and other
water and sanitation-related topics. He serves as co-chair of the WHO/UNICEF
Joint Monitoring Programme, which is the official body for monitoring progress
towards the Millennium Development Goals.
