Background
Several PhD research projects on water
governance in Switzerland have recently been completed or are in their final
stages (e.g., at Eawag - the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and
Technology, the University of Geneva, the Graduate Institute Kurt Bösch and the
Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne). There is thus a valuable
opportunity to showcase and share the research projects’ results with both the
academic and practitioner community in Switzerland and beyond. Eawag provides a
fitting environment to foster shared learning between researchers and
practitioners, as well as coordination between the different research
institutes in which the research projects have taken place. Such an interaction
can support future collaborations both within academia and between academia and
praxis. We therefore propose a seminar at Eawag to present the outcomes of
recent PhDs with significant relevance to water governance in Switzerland, from
both social and physical
science disciplines.
