The 4th IST conference is organized by research groups at Eawag and ETH Zurich and will be held from June 19-21, 2013.

Sustainable transitions of socio-technical systems have received increasing attention in recent years and there is a growing international community of scholars from a range of different disciplines working in this promising field. The conference will be a platform to present latest research, exchange ideas and strengthen networks. Furthermore, it aims at presenting promising avenues for future research and socio-political challenges associated with sustainability transitions.

Featured topics include “sustainability and management studies”, “geography of transitions” and “sustainability in the wake of current economic crises”.

The conference is part of the activities of the STRN network.
