Projects

Two Sandec projects currently contribute to reaching some of these urban urban agriculture objectives:

INMUPA: Integrated Nutrient Management in Urban and Peri-urban Areas. Based on the case of Hanoi, Vietnam, the project focuses on the development of a methodology to assess the biophysical reuse potential of different waste products (human, organic municipal solid waste and livestock manures) in urban and peri-urban agriculture as a function of crops, soil and climate conditions.

CIRUPA: Use of Co-compost in Irrigated and Rainfed Peri-Urban Agriculture: Effect on crop growth, nutrient uptake, soil characteristics and water use efficiency. The project centres on the quality of co-compost for use in urban and peri-urban agriculture. Its aim is to contribute to urban food security, conservation of natural resources and improvement of environmental conditions.
