About Me

I have more than six years of experience researching international development and environmental issues in various developing countries. In my current position as a postdoctoral fellow, I am working on identifying the effectiveness of the Open Defecation Free (ODF) campaign in flood-prone regions of Nepal. Results from our findings are critical for understanding the current and future state of ODF toilets in vulnerable areas in Nepal. This study's knowledge can help decision-makers make informed decisions on appropriate sanitation technologies and their design in different scenarios. Finally, using the fecal indicator test and health data from the region, we can identify and quantify low-quality latrines' health hazards.

In addition, I am also leading a team of experts to provide consulting service to the World Health Organization (WHO) in the development of a sanitation policy brief for the pan-European regions. 

For my Ph.D. dissertation, I identified the behavioral adaptation in WaSH after a natural disaster like an earthquake and investigated microbial changes in households and surroundings as a result of a change in hygiene behavior.
