How is globalization negotiated on a daily basis and how can we empirically understand these processes? This is one of the questions that has been driving me for a long time and the reason why I studied geography at the University of Zurich.
In the bouquet of processes, which summarizes "globalization", I intensively dealt with the daily consumption of goods and values during my master's studies. I asked myself: how are ideas about economic and fair coexistence negotiated globally through the purchase of certified products? To answer the question, I examined the "Global Production Network" of Fairtrade certified tea from Darjeeling and Eastern Nepal.
In my doctoral thesis, I am interested in the infrastructure provision in the urban sanitation sector. How is innovation in urban sanitation coming about and what are the barriers or the so called socio-technical regimes which hinder experimentation and diffusion of innovation sanitation sector.
If I am not troubling my self with questions, I explore the world on a snowboard or skateboard.
