About Me

My research sits on the interface of aquatic ecology, fluvial geomorphology and hydrology. It aims to address cross disciplinary research questions – through field experimentations and tests of theory – in order to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the dynamic and interlinking interactions among biotic and abiotic components of aquatic ecosystems. I am passionate about the management and conservation of freshwater ecosystems, undertaking applied research which has real world applications and contributes to our understanding and sustainable management of freshwater environments. To achieve this my research involves a combination of field sampling, in-situ and ex-situ experiments and statistical analysis of large data sets with the aim of providing a more holistic understanding of key biotic and abiotic processes that take place over a range of spatial and temporal scales.
