Current Projects

• Effect-Assessment of wastewater effluents by molecular biomarkers in brown trout (Salmo trutta)
• Establishment of the indigenous fish species Moderlieschen (Leucaspius delineatus)
  as model organism

Research interests

• Establishment and optimization of molecular biological assays
• Developing of alternative methods to in-vivo experimentation
• Molecular Biomarkers for field studies
• Toxicity studies with fish
• Active cellular transport mechanisms of chemical compounds
• The mechanism of chemosensitization: Mixture Toxicity

Responsibilities

• Molecular devices at Utox
• Fish husbandry at Eawag
• License for directing animal experiments

Projects

EcoImpact is an Eawag-wide interdisciplinary research effort, strongly motivated by the planned modifications of the Swiss wastewater treatment plants.
We develop experimental and computational tools to aid in the replacement and reduction of animal testing for environmental risk assessment, specifically for assessments using fish

Alternatives to animals testing
