I am an engineer with a background in multidisciplinary research committed to explore solutions that will help alleviating Urban Heat Island (UHI )effects in the urban environment.
Since 2020, I am a Postdoc at the SWW department at Eawag and a member of the StormHeatX project. The objective of my research is the development of the necessary methods and tools to quantify how negative effects of heat waves and UHI can be eased with the introduction of an adequate management of the stormwater resources.

My role in the StormHEatX project:
With experience in developing Computational Fluid Dynamics codes and a depth interest in efficient use of HPC resources and numerical and physical modelling, I aim to develop a framework for modelling thermal-hydraulic mechanisms in the built environment surfaces and underground. Future research on this area involves the coupling of the aforementioned simulation framework with microclimate models to estimate the cooling effect of controlled stormwater evaporation to improve thermal comfort while considering the spatiotemporal availability of stormwater. As the frequency of heat waves is expected to increase in the future, the role of Engineering to mitigate the impact of heat waves will continue to grow around the globe.
