Inside Nature Nanotechnology: an editor’s view

Nature Nanotechnology was launched in 2006 with the goal of publishing the most significant results across all topics in nanoscience and nanotechnology. In this presentation, I will introduce the journal as an example of a Nature Research journal. I’ll illustrate the areas that we publish, with particular emphasis on the efforts that the editorial team has done during the last few years to cover the potential role of nanotechnology in addressing societal challenges. I will then move on to discuss our editorial processes and policies, which are common to Nature and all Nature Research journals.

Dr. Pulizzi joined Nature Nanotechnology in July 2012 after working for six years at Nature Materials first as an Associate Editor and then Senior Editor. He has a first degree in physics from the University of Rome La Sapienza, Italy, and a PhD from the University of Nijmegen, the Netherlands. He also worked as a postdoc at the Universities of Nottingham and Sheffield. His research focused on the properties of semiconductor nanostructures. He is based in London.
