Social Acceptance
Social Acceptance
Accompany novel technologies
|
The introduction of the VUNA novel environmental
technologies will be accompanied by studies, which investigate the
socio-cultural perceptions and factors influencing users’ acceptance.
Up to present, very few studies have focused on investigating perceptions of urine and on re-use of urine-derived
fertilizer products, such as struvite, in a developing world context. |
Survey & raise awareness
|
The feasibility of
producing fertilizer provides an opportunity for urine diverting toilet users in eThekwini
municipality to use it in agriculture and thus improve their food security. In addition to investigating and monitoring the use of urine diverting toilets and urine-derived fertilizer products, we will develop appropriate educational activities and awareness material. |
