Ein Team von Eawag Forschern und Designern aus Österreich hat im Wettbewerb «Re-Invent the Toilet» einen Anerkennungspreis gewonnen. Ausgeschrieben hat den Preis die Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Für weniger als fünf Rappen pro Tag und Person soll das neue Toilettenmodell eine menschenwürdige, hygienische, umweltfreundliche und auch wirtschaftlich interessante Sanitärversorgung sicherstellen. Das RTTC-Projekt wird an der Eawag von Tove Larsen geleitet.
