Strategic Environmental Sanitation Planning – Our aim is to develop sanitation strategies and solutions which are socially and culturally adequate in complex informal urban settings.

Municipal Solid Waste Management – We are focusing on innovative solutions for appropriate treatment of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste.

Excreta and Wastewater Management – We are addressing three main challenges: Optimization of Treatment Technologies, Innovation in Resource Recovery, and Methods for Sustainable Systems Level Implementation.

Water Supply and Treatment – We are developing sustainable and cost-efficient approaches to measuring and improving drinking water quality.

SODIS Reference Center – Since 1991 Eawag developed the Solar Water Disinfection Process. At present, our focus is on sustainable dissemination methods.
