Aquatische Physik

The Aquatic Physics Group at Eawag Kastanienbaum studies physical processes mainly in lakes, reservoirs and rivers. We have two approaches:

  • Investigation of turbulence and microstructure to study mixing in stratified natural waters to infer turbulent fluxes; and
  • Analysis of entire lakes systems and in particular the anthropogenic influences on geochemical fluxes and biological implications.

Projekte

  • Bubbles in natural waters [...]
  • Baikal deep water mixing and fluxes of methane and nutrients [...]
  • Lake sediments and sub-aquatic sources of Lake Kivu [...]
  • Methane and carbon cycling in Lake Kivu [...]
