Drilling of Lake Van within ICDP (2010)
This recently founded project (SNSF) includes the drilling of
a >500k year old sediment core from the highly alkaline Lake Van in
Anatolia. Within this project we will investigate organic molecules that help
to reveal the history of this lake. We will use organic geochemical tools and
AMS (accelerated mass spectrometry) for dating single organic compounds. [...]
