The Centre of Ecology, Evolution and Biogeochemistry (CEEB) is in Kastanienbaum near Lucerne, situated right on the shores of Lake Lucerne. The CEEB also is home to the Swiss Fisheries Advisory Office (FIBER).

At the Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the University of Bern we study all aspects of ecology and
evolution, mostly with animals, but not exclusively so. Starting
from theoretical foundations, our research makes contributions to
fundamental and applied science.
The Institute consists of six divisions. Aquatic Ecology, Behavioural Ecology, Conservation Biology, Community
Ecology, Evolutionary
Ecology, and Population Genetics.
