About Me

I am a PhD student in the Department of Urban Water Management. My research focuses on pluvial flood risk assessment and mitigation in data-scarce, rapidly evolving, peri-urban regions. During my 4-year PhD I will explore two main research topics: (1) Data scarcity and pluvial flood risk assessment, and (2) Large-size BGIs impact on pluvial flood risk.

For research topic 1, I will establish a framework to identify the optimal combination among modelling complexity, data quality and modelling purpose. This will be done by considering the sensitivity of the risk estimation to various input data and model types.
For research topic 2, I will create a framework to evaluate the potential use large-size BGIs, particularly peri-urban agriculture, as pluvial flood adaptation measures. This includes a methodology to design large-size BGIs and include them in the pluvial flood risk assessment and investigate their impacts under varying land-use and climate conditions.
