Über mich

I am an environmental chemist with expertise in fundamental oxidation chemistry and advanced analytical approaches in the context of water and wastewater engineering. I hold a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from EPFL and recently completed an SNSF Postdoc.Mobility fellowship at Stanford University.

My research interest are:

• Determining reaction kinetics of anthropogenic chemicals to evaluate their abatement efficiency during oxidation processes
• Identifying oxidative transformation products using MS-based analytical techniques and elucidating fundamental reaction mechanisms
• Investigating effects of water matrix components (dissolved organic matter, biomolecules, halide ions) on the formation of disinfection byproducts
• Integrating quantum-chemical calculations to interpret experimental observations and to develop predictive oxidation models
• Applying cheminformatics tools to analyze large chemical spaces, identify data gaps, and guide targeted experimental studies
