About Me

My research

My research concerns the understanding of substance flows in urban drainage systems with the primary goal to minimize environmental pollution and health hazards from sewers. To do this efficiently requires i) novel experimental methods to better understand the functioning of our drainage systems and ii) to improve the reliability of urban drainage models. As societal processes and many environmental phenomena are inherently stochastic, I explicitly consider uncertainty and variability by applying advanced data analysis procedures.
