Keynote presentation at the International Symposium on Toxicity Assessment

September 9, 2022

Kristin Schirmer during her recent voyage to Canada, once again as ambassador of fish cell lines as alternatives to tests with fish for chemical screening and environmental risk assessment.

She received the honor of being invited to speak at the International Symposium on Toxicity Assessment, taking place at the University of Saskatoon in Canada.
In her public pub talk (Tox on Tap), she told the story of her team, with the great support of colleagues around the world, accomplished the acceptance of the RTgill-W1 cell line assay for fish acute toxicity predictions as ISO Standard (21115) and OECD Test Guideline (TG249).
In her keynote speech, Kristin developed the vision of building a virtual fish in which cell-based assays and computational models are combined in a modular fashion to forecast different toxicity outcomes in fish.
