November 24, 2014At the ETH Day 2014 Lisa Scholten was awarded the Otto Jaag Water Protection Prize for her dissertation. This prize is given in recognition of outstanding doctoral and master‘s dissertations on the topic of water protection and hydrology and was handed over by Prof. Dr. Lino Guzzella, Rector ETHZ.

August 29, 2014Thursday 28 August, 2014 saw a visit to Eawag by Education Minister Schneider-Ammann. He congratulated Director Janet Hering on having been elected for a third term in office, and spoke in glowing terms of the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, hailing it as one of the flagships of Switzerland’s altogether exemplary education and research landscape.

August 26, 2014NEST: The house of the future

The construction of the modular research and innovation house NEST got underway at its ground-breaking ceremony on August 26. The building’s frame, its “backbone”, should be completed by the summer of 2015, upon which the first research modules will be installed.
