Christoph Ort receives scientific paper award

The European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) has honoured Christoph Ort of the Urban Water Management department for one of his publications on the detection of drugs in wastewater. Prizes are awarded by the EMCDDA to recognize outstanding scientific writing and innovative research in the field of illicit drugs. These awards are designed to promote scientific excellence and showcase major advances in this area. Ort’s paper, which was published in Addiction, describes a unique long-term study analysing the variability of daily drug loads in wastewater. It also discusses how the monitoring design can be optimized for future studies involving wastewater analysis.
