Tracer Hydrogeology • Doctoral Student

Department Wasserressourcen & Trinkwasser

About Me

My research in tracer hydrogeology focuses on cryosphere-groundwater interactions in the Upper Engadine (Switzerland), investigating how cryospheric regimes and geological context control recharge, flow pathways, and groundwater residence times. To achieve this, I integrate multi-tracer observations (δ¹⁸O-δ²H, ³H, noble gases, hydrochemistry) with tracer-constrained transport modelling to quantify recharge sources and groundwater storage dynamics. The aim of this research is to constrain non-stationary groundwater behaviour under climate change and support process-based water resource management in alpine systems. Personally, my work is driven by a strong interest in understanding and protecting water resources for the future.
