About Me

Hello ! I like to describe myself as a lucky guy ! I have travelled since I was 20. I have graduated in Spain. I did my master and PhD in Brasil. And now I am research fellow in Switzerland. All that travelling is because I am lucky enough to be raised by an emancipated mother who believes that education can change the world for the better. I believe this too, and I chose ecology, as a science that asks why certain plants and animals are made the way they are or vary in space and time. I am an enthusiastic programmer with R and I apply, as much as possible, the Bayes theorem to update my prior expectations.

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in Environmental Sciences @ University of Barcelona, 2014
  • Master in Ecology @ Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, 2017
  • Ph.D. in Aquatic Ecology @ Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, 2022

Expertise

  • Tropical Floodplain Ecology: To what extent do floodplain loss and fishing influence aquatic food web structure and topology ?
  • Atlantic reef ecosystems: How do climate change and fishing influence species dynamics?
  • Beavers and their effects on the terrestrial-aquatic interface: To what extent do beavers influence dissolved organic carbon content?
  • Freshwater plankton dynamics: To what extent do abiotic drivers influence plankton species interactions and network stability?
