About Me
I am a PhD student at university of Neuchâtel and at eawag. In Neuchâtel I work in the group of Hydrogeological Processes of Philip Brunner. At eawag I am in the group of Environmental Isotopes of Rolf Kipfer.
Research topics
For my PhD, I focus on surface water - groundwater interactions, especially on river infiltration into groundwater. I use gases as tracers to identify these interactions, using a portable mass spectrometer developed in my research group at eawag. I am also studying the dynamics of clogging of riverbed, e.g. how the clogging takes place after river restoration works or high discharge events.
Main projects
- Development of a setup for efficient diffusive gas injection into water
- Studying impact of river restoration work on groundwater using a multi-tracer approach
- Development of infiltration columns to be placed into the riverbed to study clogging dynamics
