About Me

I am a microbial ecologist, and now work as a my postdoctoral researcher in Microbial System Ecology group hosted by Prof. Martin Ackermann.  My research interests concentrate on microbial interactions and their impacts on community ecology. I combine mathematical modelling approaches and well-defined culture of synthetic microbial communities to investigate how microbial interactions govern the spatiotempral dynamics of microbial communities. I mainly focus on these four scientific questions:

1. Mechanisms of interspecies microbial interactions and their ecological significance.

2. How microbial interaction govern the assembly of microbial communities?

3. How spatial structuring affect microbial ecology and evolution?

4. How single-cell level behaviour affect the outcomes of microbial interactions?
