Victor de Brito is a PhD candidate in Biological Sciences at Western Michigan University. His research uses phylogeny-based comparative methods, morphometric and ecological data to explore how transitions between marine and freshwater habitats can affect evolution in fishes. In addition, he is interested to understand how patterns of phenotypic diversification are affected by competition (or the lack of) in fishes, allowing the identification of instances of adaptive radiation.
