Milena Wiget
About Me
I studied environmental sciences at ETH Zurich and earned a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Bern. I am very interested in human interactions with nature and in how resulting socio-environmental conflicts and sustainability issues could be solved, managed, or governed. Examples of such issues include the use of pesticides and associated risk to human health and the environment, as well as the conservation and connection of ecologically valuable areas within multifunctional landscapes. My research focuses on who makes public policy decisions and practical management choices to address these issues, how these decisions are influenced, and how solutions that are coherent and effective from different perspectives can be designed within today’s policy complexity. In my research, I combine methods from policy studies and decision analysis.
