Tess Brewer

Postdoctoral Researcher

Department Environmental Microbiology

About Me

I received my PhD in 2019 from the University of Colorado Boulder, working with Noah Fierer in the field of microbial ecology. I previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher with Andreas Wagner at the University of Zurich on genome evolution and comparative genomics in bacteria. I also worked at LMU Munich with Jürgen Lassak in the field of experimental microbiology, through a fellowship funded by the SNF. Presently, I am working with David Johnson on fluorescent reporters in Pseudomonas species, also supported by the SNF.

I am interested in the ecology and evolution of phylogenetically diverse bacteria, specifically those that grow slowly.
