Abteilung Umweltsozialwissenschaften

Cirus

Cirus ist das Cluster für die Erforschung von Nachhaltigkeitstransitionen in Infrastruktursektoren. Wir konzentrieren uns auf die Geographie von Transitionsprozessen und tragen zu einem Verständnis bei, wie sich Transitionen in verschiedenen geografischen Kontexten entwickeln. Wir analysieren sektorale Transitionsprozesse in Bezug auf grüne Technologien (z.B. Abwasserbehandlung vor Ort, Wasserrecycling, Technologien für erneuerbare Energien usw.), wobei wir uns auf die lokale und globale Innovationsdynamiken konzentrieren, um zu verstehen wo und warum Transitionsprozesse stattfinden.

Cirus Forschende nutzen sozialwissenschaftliche Perspektiven, die vor allem auf Erkenntnissen aus Innovationsstudien, Transitionsstudien, Wirtschaftsgeographie und Institutionssoziologie aufbauen. Die Teammitglieder haben an einem Forschungsinstitut mit starkem natur- und ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Fokus aktiv an mehreren nationalen und internationalen inter- und transdisziplinären Forschungsprojekten mitgewirkt. In einer Reihe von aktuellen Projekten haben Cirus Forschende an Fallstudien in Europa, Südafrika, China, Kenia und den USA gearbeitet.

Innovationssysteme und Industriedynamiken in  Clean-Tech Sektoren

Die Gruppe analysiert potenzielle Nachhaltigkeitstransitionen in Sektoren wie städtischer Wasserwirtschaft, Energie und Verkehr und die damit verbundene Entwicklung von radikal neuen Dienstleistungsmodellen. Besonderes Augenmerk liegt auf den Voraussetzungen bestimmter Regionen und Länder um eine Vorreiterrolle bei  diesen Prozessen einzunehmen more

Globalisierung und Transitionen zu nachhaltiger Entwicklung

Die Forschungsgruppe analysiert, wie Transitionsdynamiken an entfernten Orten der Welt zunehmend vernetzt werden und ob und wie man sie im Sinne einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung beeinflussen kann. more

Die Forschungsgruppe zu Unternehmensinnovationen analysiert die Bedingungen, unter denen innovative Produkte und Dienstleistungen von Versorgungsunternehmen, öffentlich-privaten Partnerschaften oder neuen Arten von Dienstleistern kostengünstig, sozial gerecht und ökologisch nachhaltig entwickelt und bereitgestellt werden können. more

Dieses Projekt analysiert mögliche Transitionspfade für Grundversorgungsdienstleisungen mit einem besonderen Fokus auf das Beispiel Nairobi, Kenia.
