Visit the Water Hub virtually

June 11, 2021 | Karin Stäheli

In the Water Hub, our scientists are researching sustainable and decentralised wastewater treatment. Here, wastewater is not regarded as waste, but as a resource. Now the research platform in NEST can be visited virtually at any time.

The new virtual tour through the entire NEST building makes the numerous newly developed innovations demonstrated in practical applications accessible to a larger audience. The environmental engineer Carina Doll provides an insight into the Water Hub, where visitors from all over the world can explore the technologies and products independently. Text, pictures, video and audio content is available to make the processes for resource recovery of greywater, urine and faeces understandable to a wide audience.

The Water Hub is part of the modular research and innovation building NEST (Next Evolution in Sustainable Building Technology) of Empa and Eawag. Here, more than 150 partners from research, industry and the public sector work closely together. New technologies and building concepts are tested and further developed in NEST under real conditions and demonstrated in everyday practice.
