The WASH Learning Lab, in close collaboration with all research groups at Sandec, is dedicated to advancing education in water, sanitation, and solid waste management. We design learning experiences that combine scientific evidence with practical relevance for students, practitioners, and institutions globally.
Free online course series “Sanitation, Water and Solid Waste for Development”
Join a global community of more than 200,000 students and practitioners through our MOOC series “Sanitation, Water and Solid Waste for Development”. The courses provide introductions into solid waste management, water treatment, sanitation planning or faecal sludge management. They are continuously available and free of charge on the learning platform Coursera.
Co-creation of context-specific WASH education
In collaboration with partners, we co-create lectures, workshops, and other educational formats designed for the respective context.
Educational innovation
The WASH Learning Lab designs and tests new ways of teaching WASH and solid waste management that are practical, inclusive, and future-oriented. We pilot innovative learning tools and formats to improve access to education, enrich the learner experience, and better link theoretical knowledge with real-world practice.
